HICKORY, NC – With the inaugural Carolina Auto Racing Show (CARS) less than a week away, show management is making the final plans to prepare for the large turnout expected at the Hickory Metro Convention Center January 13-14.

Robert Yates to Sign Autographs at CARS on January 13th!

HICKORY, NC – One of the true legends of auto racing will be making an appearance at the inaugural Carolina Auto Racing Show (CARS) on Friday January 13th, as Robert Yates will be signing autographs from 11:00 AM – Noon in the Roush Yates Performance Products display.
Yates, a Charlotte, NC native is widely regarded as one of the greatest engine builders in stock car racing history. The 1999 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion car owner is still active in the sport as he is the exclusive supplier of the NASCAR Spec-Engine program.
“What an honor to have Robert Yates visit CARS’ inaugural show,” said CARS director Jimmy Schiltz. “Our staff has worked many long hours to promote CARS and to be able to make such an announcement as this is something we can all be proud of.”
“Roush Yates Performance Parts have been a key part of the show to this point and we are very thankful to have such great exhibitors as them,” added Schiltz.
The inaugural Carolina Auto Racing Show (CARS) will take place on January 13-14 at the Hickory Metro Convention Center in Hickory, NC Show hours are from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM both Friday and Saturday. The show is open to the public with a $10 general admission ticket.

NDRA Late Model and Modz Series to Hold Banquet at CARS Event on January 14th at 7:00 PM!

HICKORY, NC – The annual NDRA awards banquet will be held on Saturday night January 14th at the Hickory Metro Convention Center in conjunction with the inaugural Carolina Auto Racing Show (CARS). Ron Parker and Kyle Strickler will be honored as 2011 NDRA champions. Parker for his amazing 2011 season that saw the Belwood, NC native rack up over 25 wins. Strickler’s recent victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway clinched the inaugural NDRA Modz point championship for the Mooresville, NC racer. Times for the event will be announced in the coming weeks. The CARS Show is the perfect venue for our banquet, said NDRA President Larry Lee. CARS will offer a location for all racers to be in one place for all the latest in racing technology and safety. CARS will allow vendors to showcase and sell new product and allow racers to gather in one central place to network, shop and see all the latest in speed trends for short track racing. There has been a need for a show for not only the professional racer but the weekly guy that supports his local short track, said CARS director Jimmy Schiltz. Exibitor List Continues to Grow!

HICKORY, NC – With the inaugural Carolina Auto Racing Show (CARS) just over a month away exhibitors are making final preparations in anticipation of big weekend January 13-14, 2012.
The 87,000 square foot Hickory Metro Convention Center is nearly full with vendors from coast to coast.
CARS will allow vendors to showcase and sell new product and allow racers to gather in one central place to network, shop and see all the latest in speed trends for short track racing.
“Proud is not the word we would use to describe the show,” said Show Director Jimmy Schiltz. “Excited and amazed are two that come to mind. We have been contacted from industry representatives from all over the circle track racing community that has signed up to be a part of the inaugural show. When we planned CARS we knew there was a need for such an event and the feedback and registration we have obtained backed that up.
There will be seminars, awards banquets, conferences, rules meetings and other special events being held throughout the weekend as part of the CARS Show.
The show will be open to the racing public. Tickets can be purchased at the door for just $10.
“We have a great staff and we are hard at work in making the show a huge success,” said Schiltz. “Our team consists of not only industry representatives but racers themselves who know the challenges and expenses of racing. We have pooled our knowledge together to make sure CARS will be a huge success for all involved.”

Humpy Wheeler to Host Promoters Workshop at CARS

HICKORY, NC – As the Carolina Auto Racing Show (CARS) continues to grow, more exciting details of the inaugural show are being released.
Along with a two-day trade show on January 13-14 there will also be over 15 seminars held in conjunction with the event. Saturday’s headlining seminar will be the Promoters Roundtable hosted by famed racing promoter H.A. ‘Humpy’ Wheeler.
Wheeler, the former Charlotte Motor Speedway promotor, is a Belmont, NC native and keeps a keen eye on short track racing across the country. Wheeler will be on hand Saturday at 11:00 AM to sign his book ‘Growing up NASCAR’.
“The feedback so far has been amazing,” said CARS’s Jimmy Schiltz. “We have contracts signed from industry representatives from all over the country and will be announcing a vendor list in the coming days. “
There will be a one day and two day pass available and more information concerning the show will be released in the coming weeks.

Roush Yates Performance Parts Joins CARS

Hickory, NC – Roush Yates has announced their plans to participate in the upcoming Carolina Auto Racing Show (CARS) in Hickory, NC. The two day show will allow Roush Yates to display their vast inventory of performance products and racing engines to drivers and teams throughout the eastern U.S. Trade shows are one of the most effective ways for Roush Yates to promote new products as well as give teams an up close look at their powerful engines.
